About the Author

Between somewhere, and Somewhere else

Caught between cultures and continents, Mark writes with an artist’s eye, a musician’s rhythm, and a traveller’s heart—crafting stories that invite children to dream, and discover their own place in the world. His stories explore identity, belonging, and wonder. With a warmth and wit, that should appeal to readers of all ages.

Born in the UK to an English Mother and Lebanese father, Mark grew up between worlds —never entirely belonging to either. That sense of in-between, has shaped a lifelong fascination with story, escape, and the wonder of elsewhere.

After graduating with degree in Fine Arts, Mark worked as a professional double bassist, touring internationally and working with artists including Ryan Adams, Grammy Winner Matt Hales and many others. A career in advertising and marketing followed. Living and working across Africa, Australia, Russia, China, North America and Europe — quietly collecting stories of people and places from the edges of the world. Experiences that fuel a vivid, borderless imagination and an eye for detail that turn the ordinary into the quietly magical.
